The Quixote House
Letters from the Quinta
I moved to Portugal at 46 thinking I’d finally slow down.
I hosted 600 guests that summer.
If you’re laughing, this is probably the right place for you.
Letters from the Quinta is where I write about the gap between the life you planned and the one you’re actually living. About what happens after the pivot; the part nobody puts in the Instagram caption. About food as the language I use when I don’t have other words. About building something that looks like yourself when you’ve spent decades building things that looked like other people.
I write for the woman who has built something impressive and can’t quite figure out why it feels like a performance. Who is excellent at her life and occasionally exhausted by it. Who suspects that good enough, on her own terms, might actually be the destination she’s been running toward.
Here’s what you get when you subscribe.
Twice a month, a dispatch from northern Portugal. Not content. Not tips. Not a five-step framework for becoming your best self. Just honest writing about what it actually looks like to choose yourself after fifty years of choosing everyone else first.
You’ll also be the first to hear about retreats at the Quixote House — small, high-intimacy gatherings in the Minho region of Portugal for women who are ready to stop performing their lives and start examining them. These retreats are intentionally small. Five guests. One week. The kind of experience that requires trust, and trust requires the right people.
Subscribers hear about them first, before they’re announced anywhere else.
I’m not a coach. I’m not a wellness practitioner. I’m a witness, still in the middle of my own becoming, still figuring it out, still choosing this life consciously every day.
If that sounds like the kind of company you want to keep, subscribe.
The letters arrive twice a month. The retreats fill quickly. And the cheesecake — when I finally perfect it — will probably make an appearance too.
